SENIOR FISH FARM MANAGER
Looking to step up? Or already an experienced manager needing a new challenge in a beautiful part of the country?
Then read on...
Due to relocation we have a vacancy for a
Senior Fish Farm Manager at our Howkeld site, near Pickering in the beautiful East Riding of the North Yorkshire Moors.
The role involves planning the production of large quantities of trout, working with other farm managers in the business as well as direct customer liaison to ensure that our fish are "happy and healthy" before they are transported to our customers across the UK.
You will need a proven track record, ideally with qualifications in the aqua-culture industry, of managing production and planning of trout growth, health and welfare including managing and training on the job less experienced staff. You will need to be physically fit as the role involves lifting and work close to water on uneven and often grassy surfaces. You will also need sufficient confidence to nurture the potential in other staff, challenge the business owner with new ideas for increased productivity and profitability or to greet our customers or suppliers who visit site.
A working knowledge of international quality standards such as QTUK, Global Gap, Freedom Foods and RSPCA assurance is important (but not essential as internal training can be given, but an aptitude for working within frameworks and conducting compliance checks are a must).
In return, you can expect a package including: an industry-decent salary based on your experience; an average 45 hour week (plus one- two weekends in three / time off in lieu); payment for farm checks & emergency call outs and for the right candidate the potential for profit-share.
